2026-05-05 — Tuesday — Las Vegas
At its Knowledge 2026 conference at the Venetian Expo Center, ServiceNow announced a sweeping expansion of its Autonomous Workforce — a suite of role-scoped AI specialists that complete entire enterprise processes end-to-end without human intervention. The rollout spans IT operations, customer relationship management, HR, finance, legal, procurement, and security & risk, and arrives bundled with extended partnerships with both Nvidia and Microsoft.
“Advisory AI has run its course,” said Amit Zavery, ServiceNow’s President and Chief Product Officer, in the opening keynote. “Enterprises need AI that senses, decides, and securely acts.” The message frames the announcement as a deliberate step past chat-style copilots toward agents that own outcomes, not suggestions.
The headline is the breadth of the specialist catalogue. Rather than a single general-purpose agent, ServiceNow is shipping role-scoped agents tuned to specific job functions, each with permission boundaries enforced by the platform.
The platform story is at least as significant as the product story:
The combination is notable: ServiceNow is positioning itself as the policy and identity layer that sits on top of agents running on someone else’s compute, in someone else’s productivity suite. That is a very different shape from competitors selling a single vertically integrated agent stack.
The keynote leaned heavily on operating-scale figures. Worth noting because they set the bar the new agents are being measured against:
The 99%-faster internal-IT claim is the kind of number that survives scrutiny only if the company is also publishing its baseline. ServiceNow has, in past investor materials — worth checking against the Q1 numbers when the next earnings cycle lands.
Two threads are worth pulling on.
First, this is one of the clearest enterprise statements yet that the centre of gravity is moving from “assistant inside a chat window” to “agent that owns a queue.” Whether the agents actually live up to the autonomous-resolution pitch is an empirical question; the strategic positioning is unambiguous.
Second, the Microsoft Agent 365 integration is the more interesting half of the story for anyone building on either platform. If ServiceNow’s AI Control Tower becomes the de facto policy plane across Microsoft 365 agents, it sets up a layering pattern — runtime on one vendor, governance on another — that the rest of the enterprise AI market will have to react to. Expect Salesforce, Workday, and SAP to respond at their summer events.
For practitioners on this site: if you’re building or evaluating agentic systems against an enterprise backdrop, the keynote is worth watching for the Control Tower demo specifically. The Armis + Veza integration story matters most if you’re on the security side — the unified asset / identity model under one agent surface is the kind of consolidation that reshapes how access reviews and incident response get wired together.
